"urinary incontinence...self-catheterization training before Botox"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Urogynaecology

(as a service user),

I was dreading another round of urogynecology appointments, but Kelsey and Hayley put me at ease and helped  me choose the right catheter and how to locate the insertion point exactly with 'landmarks' I hadn't expected to be able to see. Even with my hand tremor I got it right the first try with no problem. They were friendly and good-humoured throughout, and I did not feel my usual combination of disgust and uncleanliness.

The only thing that could have been better would have been a shorter wait for the Botox injections to the bladder. The existence of a permanent solution to the problem would be the best, but that's an unrealistic pipe dream.

Hi kodiak46,

Thank you for taking the time to provided feedback about your experience within the urogynaecology department.

I was glad to hear you felt Kelsey and Hayley were helpful, friendly, good humoured and made you feel at ease during your appointment within clinic K.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to the staff who I'm sure will be touched to hear you had such a pleasant experience.

I can only apologise about the wait for Botox however we are trying to add as many extra clinics as possible to help reduce the waiting times.

Kind Regards

Lesleyann O’Donnell
