"Antenatal Care & blood tests - appalling"

Anything else?

I am 22 weeks pregnant and to this day not one blood test has been performed correctly. I had to go back this morning after the Cutty Sark Midwife told me everything was in the computer and they need two samples taken, waited 2 hours and they just took one blood test. The nurse told me to escalate the problem to their supervisor who blamed the midwife (whoever's fault it is I wanted a solution!) and they simply told me that I would have to come back for a fourth blood test.... The midwife are on answering machine most of the day and I wont be able to get results for another few days if ever. I am appalled by the lack of care and support in this process and cannot understand how it is possible to mess up something so straight forward. Before that I also had some blood tests taken at the A&E at 8 weeks that disappeared. All in all I have no viable results of none of the 7 blood tests i have had since the beginning of my pregnancy, putting my baby and me in physical danger and emotional stress. I have one word disgraceful.

I am very sorry that you are unhappy with aspects of your maternity care. The community midwives are at their base from monday to friday and answerphone messages are checked, and responded to daily. I have forwarded this onto Giuseppe Labriola, the midwifery manager for community, so that he is aware. However.
