About: West Middlesex University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Went to A&E at about 6.00 pm. Was seen within half an hour and yet the doctor took time to help me. I was concerned about the pressure they were working under but they couldn't be faulted. The doctor was caring, attentive to detail and very reassuring. I was exceedingly anxious when I went into A&E but all the staff there dealt with me in a caring but professional way. Thank you all.

What could be improved

Referral system between local doctors and the hospital.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear about your very positive experience at our A&E department and your comments have been forwarded to the senior A&E consultants.

There is a national computerised referral system, called Choose & Book, which allows GPs to directly book appointments for patients at the hospital. We are aware that currently this system is not as effective as it could be and we are working closely with local GPs to improve access. We anticipate that by September this year patients and GPs will see a significant improvement. In the meantime we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
