"I’m really pleased with the service"

When I rang 111 the girls I spoke to were very helpful and friendly. They went through a checklist with me and then advised me that a doctor would call me back within an hour.

I waited for two hours but had no call back so I phoned 111 again. This time they gave me the option of having a doctor come to see me at home or having an ambulance to take me to hospital. I really appreciated having this option to choose –I wanted to stay at home and they arranged for a doctor to come and see me.

Although it was the middle of the night the doctor who came was on her own, she clearly had prepared well for the visit because she understood my problem and what she would need to treat me, She had all this with her, treated me and helped me get comfortable.

I’m really pleased with the service, even though there was a hitch when the doctor did not call back. I am now recovering well as a result of the care and precise treatment I received from the doctor who called.
