"Lack of cooperation or duty of care"

About: Hospital Of St Cross (Rugby)

Anything else?

I have just taken a man to the local walk in centre at St Cross. He was complaining that he wasn't feeling well and was having thoughts of self harm. The man admitted to having an alcohol problem and that he had been drinking but didn't consider himself drunk or that the drink was a problem. The staff reluctantly spoke with him for five minutes and then said that they didn't have a facility to deal with him at the hospital and that they couldn't provide an ambulance to take him to the next nearest Hospital of Walsgrave. I then had to take the male to Walsgrave, some 10+ miles away. I am not medical staff and was not in a suitably equipped vehicle either. Where was the duty of care by the hospital staff?
