Anything else?
I had an accident leading to very painful, multiple fractures of my arm and was taken by ambulance to GWH on Saturday 30th March. Everyone from the paramedics who splinted my arm before taking me in, to the staff in A&E were professional, friendly and reassuring. The A&E doctor and consultant explained in detail the options for treatment and what they were doing at each stage. It took a fair while to get sorted but it was a complex set of fractures. There was a period where I feared they had forgotten me but their were staff available to reassure me it was just a wait for the x-ray to become available and it was more comfortable to wait where I was - in reality it was not a long wait. The arm was operated on to insert a metal plat the next morning under local anaesthetic (which is an interesting experience) and I was discharged that afternoon. Once again my treatment was excellent.
Fortunately it was not that busy when I was admitted to A&E and I am sure some other people's experiences may vary, but my experience was of a professional group of staff working very hard to provide a high quality service and I am very grateful to them all.
"Excellent and friendly service"
