Anything else?
My family brought my grandmother into A+E via Ambulance after a history of falls and confusion. We were quite anxious about the care my grandmother would receive in view of her being 90 years of age. However, from the moment she was transferred to a cubicle, she was given first rate care by the GP trainee and the staff nurses and cllinical support workers.
She developed incontinence of urine on admission and her linen was changed three times within a short length of time until she was catheterised which helped my nan's dignitity. She was treated with dignity, care and respect. She was treated as an individual rather than a number and myself and my mother felt confident in the care she received.
My nan was then transferred to EAU where again, she was treated with excellent care by a doctor, a lovely support worker and other staff nurses. Nothing was too much trouble whilst we stayed with my grandmother.
She is currently waiting to be transferred to a medical ward in view of her other health conditions, but if she receives the same standard of care as she has already, then we will be more than satisfied.
At this point I would also like to thank the doctor and his secretary for the help and support they have given my grandmother over the last couple of years.
The public are quick enough to complain about things that go wrong, but unfortunately not enough people put their thanks and gratitude in writing. Dudley Group of Hospitals is my hospital of choice and I would wholly recommend it to everyone.
Thank you.
"Excellent care provided by A+E and EAU staff"
