"About my care with Addaction"

I went to see Addaction for support with alcohol and drugs. I had been using alcohol and drugs most of my life but after going through domestic violence my using increased and I really needed help. I plucked up the courage to go to Addaction and right from the start the project worker listened carefully understood the help I needed. I felt safe to tell her all the issues contributing to my problem and after many years of substance misuse it felt like a weight of my shoulders and just by being able to talk to her helped enormously.

She gave me tools that could help and although I could not attend a course due to work she went out of her way to get me the course content which really has helped me to stop using so much. She also was an advocate for me in dealing with other agencies when I was getting nowhere on my own. She really was an angel just when I needed it and I know I wouldnt have been able to get to this point of being ninety percent clean without her help. I just want to say thank you that there is a place like Addaction and people like my project worker who I could go to.
