as the psychiatric unit for youth I was one of the oldest in the unit, as i was admitted in the last four months of being a 17 year old. I do believe i would be far worse off now if i had not received the treatment i did at Plymbridge. I met some wonderful people and we all agreed that the hospital was laid out in such a way it became home as many of us where there for most of the day each day of every week. It is because of this that the structure and design of Plymbridge is so important for it to maintain a homely feel, and a comfortable environment for the inpatients (aged 12-18) to find the experience as enjoyable as possible. There was many activities available but i do believe that for education the post 16 schedule should be extended and offer more to the older patients. I would like to thank the Staff at PLymbridge for everything they have done to help me get well and help my family understand what is wrong with me and how they can cope when i am not well.
