"C section"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Anything else?

I had my baby in dec 2012 by c section all staff on the delivery ward were fantastic and really looked after me and my bAby, however I cannot say the same for the labour ward. They were massively understaffed and I felt I was a nuisance when I pressed by buzzer for help.

My 1st encounter was when I wasn't checked on for over 4 hrs and my bag needed emptying but it was so full it was ready to explode. I am also asthmatic but after the c section I couldn't move myself up my bed and asked for help I had to wait for hours by the time a trainee nurse came I was weezing as I was left in my back for so long and I started hypo ventilating but got no sympathy another nurse came and was very rude and said I could move myself when I explained I was in really agony she pressed my tummy and said to the other trainee nurse, see no pain - making out I was a lier.

During my 4 day stay in this hospital I had another encounterwith this particular rude nurse and it was when I was being discharged. I was told about 11am I couldn't go home but I was begging to go by 1pm another doc says I could. We started packing our things, my husband started taking things to the car and this rude, obnoxious nurse came and told me I had to vacate the bed now and started wheeling my baby down the corridor shouting come on daddy you have got to go, this was less than 20 mins since we were told I could leave. She wheeled my baby and the rest of my things into the visiting room where 6 other baby's were also waiting to be discharged it was chaotic and left me with such a bad opinion and experience of this hospital.

I would like to say that all the junior midwives were exceptional and really supportive but again didn't have much time to help with breast feeding.
