"Waited 2 years for surgery to correct deviated..."

About: Newham General Hospital

Anything else?

Waited well over 2 hours to be seen by the so called speaclist, without any apologies like it's a normal thing as if we don't have anything better to do. Made me wait two years for corrective surgery which would take him 20 minutes to do and will greatly improve my quality of life. After all that time he tells that he doesn't want to do the surgery because I'am on certain medication which which has about 5% chance of interacting with the anesthetic and put in a shock. What I'am angry about is that he already knew I was on this med when I first saw him 2 years ago, and initially said it shouldn't be a problem and if there was he would transfer me to a different hospital to do the procedure. He was giving false hope and wasted my time and made change meds for no reason, he didn't care about my well being, he just didn't want to do a risky operation which isn't actually risky at all, I found that out by speaking to a anesthesiologist who said the med at this dose shouldn't be a problem for a simple procedure. I got her to put this in writhing so I could show it to my doctor, initially he was on board and then sent me a letter saying he's not going ahead with this. What a waste of time and hope! why didn't he just say that on the first appointment instead stringing me along, I would've understood if had said on the first appointment.

Apart from the fact he is rude, shows no respect and has an attitude as if he's better than you. Every appointment I went to he arrived late and kept me waiting from an hour to two. Never looks at me when speaking to me, acts in hurry can't wait to finish and let me out the door. Whenever I ask a question he never gives a straight answer and says "I know what's best" while looking down at me.

I can't speak about other departments but if you have an ENT appointment at Newham general hospital tell your GP to refer you to a different hospital.
