"Fantastic Birthing Experience"

About: Leighton Hospital

Anything else?

I gave birth to a healthy baby boy thanks to a lovely midwife and doctor. The midwife was friendly, polite, assertive and professional. She put me at instant ease and made me feel confident and in control. The doctor was fantastic at stitching me up afterwards, I have a fear of needles and am sure I'm not the best patient to do such a prrocedure on, yet I feel more like myself now than I did after the birth of my first child. I'd also like to say that the new labour ward rooms are lovely, the ensuite facilities are marvelous, and it's a much better environment to give birth in. I spent a few days afterwards in hospital, I received excellent care on Ward 23, the staff were kind and the ward had a relaxed homely feel to it that made me feel welcome and looked after.

Response from Leighton Hospital

Thank you very much for your comments. We always strive to provide the best care. It is very much appreciated by all staff when mothers find time within their busy schedules, having had a new baby, to give us positive feedback. We are very pleased with our newly refurbished labour ward and midwife led unit which is proving very popular , now being able to offer pool deliveries in all midwife led rooms. Thank you also for your comments regarding your experience on Ward 23, I have ensured these are also shared with the team on the ward. Denise Horne, Labour Ward Manager.
