Where do I start? Five years ago I discovered I had Breast Cancer. Quite a scary thing but once told by my consultant and my breast nurse that things could be done for me I put my total trust in them. I was not let down. Every department that helped me, from Oncology to the wonderful gentleman that reassured me when I was sent for blood tests, was amazing. It was wondrful to know that they were only a phone call away if I had a problem and they continue to support me to this day. Yes my check ups continue but how lucky am I? I even enjoy my bone scans. These are done so promptly that I am usually out before I am due in!
More recently I have been having laser treatment for burst blood vessels. Again the department is fantastic and I could not ask for a better service or more friendly staff. I am looking forward to further treatments.
Six weeks ago I had a hysterectomy and once again my consultant and the whole of his team were outstanding. I had to make three visits to the Pre-Operative Assessment Ward because of my blood group and found them very understanding and supportive. I would also like to praise the staff who spent hours trying to get blood out of me in the blood test area. Their patience and kindness was beyond expectation!
Finally I would like to thank the staff in the recovery ward and Downton Ward. I really enjoyed the experience and didn't want to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the other patients on the ward were a pleasure to be with.
All in all so far I have been truly satisfied with my treatment at Salisbury District Hospital and I look forward to my future appointments.
Thank you.
