"A very helpful auxillery staff ..."

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

A very helpful auxillery staff member offtered a very welcome cup of tea!

What could be improved

The A&E seating is ripped and in need of repair or replacement. We were kept waiting a further 3/4 hr after the junior doctor had called us to the cubicle. Whilst waiting in the cubicle we could hear every word of phone calls made by hospital staff about patients and what treatment was needed. We also heard a phone conversation about what food was going to be had when the staff member got home! Telephone calls of this nature should not be heard by all. Hospital staff could not give my son any pain relief. The staff should know where patients and/or carers can go to get prescriptions or over the counter medication after normal shop opening hours, especially if the area is unknown. High Wycombe is a long way to come from to find out treatment is not available unless a return journey is made. Bring back hospital services to Wycombe General Hospital. The Stoke Mandeville service is very poor and is not the better service we were told that we would receive after losing services at Wycombe General.
