I have been attending this hospital for some time now under the care of 3 different departments and can only say in each case I have been treated with dignity kindness and respect. My opinions about treatments have always been taken into consideration and if I have had any problems between appointments , help has always been available.

Every member of staff I have so far encountered has been friendly and helpful without exception.

The time between appointments is often longer than the consultant tells you it will be and it is often difficult to get that appointment at RSCH - rather being sent to one of the satellite clinics. 6 - 8 weeks follow up is most often 10 - 12 weeks.

I really like the new scheme of checking in on a computer screen and then having some idea on the publicly visible tv screen in the clinic of where you are on the waiting list for the person you are seeing. That takes a lot of stress away.

Whilst some areas and fabric items are in need of some TLC and general brightening up to make the environment better for patients, I do feel that it is kept as clean as possible.

Toilets are always kept clean .

Smoking is a problem outside the main doors. People persistantly stand under the 'No smoking ' signs smoking whilst patients have to walk through a wall of smoke into a foyer which also smells of tobacco .

One major improvement in my opinion would be to the catering. The coffee shop is totally inadequate. There are always people waiting for their drinks whilst blocking the main access to the hospital. The food whilst being good, lacks variety of choice and for many people is far too expensive/ The hospital restaurant serves a predominance of spicy unnatractive food. I was given a jacket potato which had obviously been re-heated more than once and was waxy and brown as a result and totally inedible.
