Anything else?
I was operated on twice at the hospital, both times last year. I have written a complaint and had an apology about the first set of nursing care but no acknowledgement regarding this second issue:- I never saw/met the surgeons who operated on me. The system means you see a consultantat pre op but sign a form to say a competent person will do your operation. I only found this out afterwards when I questioned about it. I went into a room unconcious and was cut openand touched by someone I never met . I still feel violated and sick about this. I don't know how to get the system changed or who to complain to now. I've hit a brick wall. Not meeting your surgeon is dismissive of patient care to say the least; egotistical and neglectful at it's most serious. I will not be returning to any hospital that has the same policy. It's wrong. I still feel ill at the thought!!
"Never met my surgeon."
