My mother was admitted to RGH with a fractured hip which was sustained following a fall at her care home.
Surgery was successful. The thing that really impressed was the care that she received from the staff who appreciated that their patient had advanced dementia. Her hydration and nutrition were carefully monitored and they were so understanding when my Mum showed signs of aggression as she was frightened and unfamiliar with her surroundings.
There is a lot of negative press about the NHS and dementia sufferers, but full marks and manynthanks to RGH and to taffy on A&E, C5 West and C7 East.
