"Treatment of my mother"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

Anything else?

My mother, Mrs Margaret Wood was admitted to QMC on Friday 8th March; she had collapsed at home, and my sister called her doctor who called an ambulance, which took her to your A & E where she was examined and then taken to Ward D57. She remained there until she was moved to Ward C52 on Monday 11 March; she died that evening at about 7.30pm. She was semi-concious all of the time she was in your Hospital.

In each of these three places my mother was treated with the greatest care and respect by all of the staff that we came into contact with (that is both nurses, doctors and the great guys who made the tea). Even though the staff were busy they were always keeping an eye on Mum and checking on her progress; they kept us fully informed of what was going on, answered our questions fully and openly, and did their best to make sure that we were comfortable.

In the light of the current complaints in the media about hospitals, your staff were wonderful; thank you for all that you did for Mum and ourselves at that traumatic time. Very best wishes -

Roger and Naomi Wood (Margaret Wood's son and daughter-in-law)

We extend our condolences for your loss. Thank you for sharing your kind feedback with us. It means a great deal to hear that our colleagues made you and your family feel as comfortable as possible and well-informed about what was happening during this most difficult time. I will be sure to pass on your comments to colleagues in our Emergency Department, on Ward D57 and Ward C52. Our thoughts are with you.
