I have been admitted to worthing a & e on three occassions all with chest pains and palputations. I am under two different types of cardiologists. I have had to chase every appointment one took 13 weeks for scan results. I was treated like an idiot by the Acute medical consultant who dismissed by symptoms on 2 occassions and sent one of his trainees to discharge me and as i was still asking him questions he was walking out the ward. This is so rude. I have now had to chase three times for an appointment with cardiology which should of happend in Feb 2013 as he forgot to make the appointment and i'm due an ablation in April with no appointment to check that my medication he gave me in december has worked or to discuss the procedure as he promised. The secretary said three weeks ago she would fit me in, but until I phoned today this had not happend. She also asked me if i thought i still needed the procedure. This I find very worrying that it is my decision when i have not received any medical advise !! I went for a second ECG treadmill test but as they had double booked they decided not to bother even though i had deteriated since the last one a month earlier. This is not the first time i have had to chase and got fobbed off by secretaries ! I had to make my own CT Scan appointment after ringing on the off chance enquiring about time scales they fitted me in 2 months earlier if i hadn't rang i wd of waited a total of 3 and a half months. I am working part time as my condition is so limiting. I have tried all day to speak to a secretary but just get an answer phone. I have now been suffering for 10 months with my condition getting worse no one cares and the GP doesn't seem to want to get involved as i'm under a cardiologist. No communication between GP or consultant. Stress makes symptons worse which i try to avoid but dealing with Worthing Hospital has been very stressful. When I do see the consultants I feel like a number and they can't get you out the door quick enough so you have no time to digest the information you have been given or ask questions. I am now waiting for a cardiac MRI scan results which I have no faith in getting before I have my ablation in April and my concern is that the results may effect the surgery. I have very real concerns about the care i have received and am now on GTN spray to help with the chest pains on a daily basis. The cardiologist is unaware of this as cannot get hold of them.
