I wrote earlier on in the year about my son's stay from May 10th last year to going to ward 26 In July to October. I would like to say that just like all other wards I cannot fault Ward 26, the staff, OT's, Physio's and therapists were excellent. They showed such care to my son and always made him feel like a proper person. Anthony had diffused hypoxic brain injury but they made him feel special as they do all their patients. My son cannot walk at the moment by himself but hopefully in time he will. The staff are all friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They were very understanding to us the relatives and always took time even though busy with patients to explain any concerns we may have had. The Consultant is the nicest, and most thoughtful consultant we have ever met. He explained with such care to both my son and ourselves my son's injury and what could be done and what they were going to do. They brought my son on from not being able to move or talk to thinking for himself and walking with aids, their patience was incredible and i can never thank them all enough. My opinion is absolutely 5 star.

It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work.
