From time to time I require surgery on one or other hand, to rectify Dupuytren’s contracture. For some years I have attended a clinic as an outpatient, to have my condition monitored. Eventually it was decided to operate and, following pre-op checks, I was admitted on November 2nd . I was operated on and discharged the same day. In the following weeks I have attended at various times; to have my dressings changed; be given advice on physiotherapy; and have a splint made and adjusted. Finally on Tuesday, I was discharged. The op was a complete success.

I thought now might be a good time to write to thank everyone, for their unfailing kindness and professional care during the whole process. Having to visit so many different departments could well have been a nightmare experience, but the whole process was seamless. The people who looked after me were, without exception, positive, cheerful and caring. (It may have been post operative euphoria, but when I was “coming round” and waiting to be despatched back to the ward, I thought to my myself “this is one happy bunch of people”. They were obviously enjoying working together, and I think I might have even seen a high five at one point!)

I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to all concerned.
