"Post hysterectomy care"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

In the wake of all the negative comments about the care in NHS hospitals I would like to share my very positive experience in Brockham Ward. I stayed for three days on this ward and was very impressed with the calm, efficient professional care I received from the nursing staff. Most of all I was struck by the kindness, patience and compassion of the nursing staff, even when they were busy I did not hear irritation in their voices or witness any roughness. I would like to particularly mention the lovely lady who brings round the food and drinks, always cheerful and making sure the patients are comfortable. Good job everyone! !

Dear Janj

Many thanks for taking the time to post your positive comments on your recent stay at East Surrey Hospital. We always aim to provide the best possible care and I'm very pleased that you received such a good experience.

I will personally ensure that the housekeeper you mention is thanked - although I know she's off for a couple of days. You may not be surprised to learn that this particular member of staff won the "West Sussex County Times “Healthcare Worker” Community Award" in November 2011 and we're very proud of her achievement!

Kind regards

Ian
