"Labour and childbirth"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Anything else?

I had a long painful labour where I was in agony for over 50 hours, the staff at CIC did everything they could to help and make me comfortable. The constantly reviewed my situation and made the options clear to me. The midwives were amazing.........mainly with helping my husband (I was in my own world)

My labour ended in a c-section so I was in a lot of pain afterwards, the midwives and all of the other helpers who helped me were super, I couldn't have asked for more. Occasionally I found I was being given different opinions off different widwives which left me confused, especially when it came to breast feeding. I was new to it and did struggle, but I got there in the end!

One of the unsung heros on my ward was the the "tea lady" every time she came around she would remember what I liked (and my husband) and bring it to us, she was so happy and jolly..........I'm going to miss her!

Also, I have coeliac disease, I was very well catered for, there was a small selection of gluten free foods for me to choose from daily and I really enjoyed them! (Much to everyone's surprise)

Thank you everyone!

Pam
