My father-in-law is currently being treated and is extremely unwell. Family members arrived today to find him in tears having been left unattended or checked on for a long period. He had just been left there without any care having been taken to ensure his comfort - things had been left out of his reach. He was unable to reach his water or the buzzer, with the result that he soiled himself and was then forced to lie there in it - feeling humiliated and vulnerable. He is a professor and a fastidious man - where was his dignity today? Bath RUH care did not give him any. I am disgusted by this lack of compassion or professionalism.
