What I liked
Since my diagnosis the nurses and doctors who I have seen have all been wonderful. They have worked together well, bringing in colleagues with good knowledge of particular aspects of rheumatology to discuss particulars, and keeping me informed and involved with decisions about my treatment. There seems to be an excellent level of knowledge of rheumatology and genuine interest in my case.
I've valued the standard at the rheumatology department highly enough to continue visiting the clinic even after moving away from the area.
What could be improved
When I was first referred to the rheumatology department about two years ago I was seen for the first few appointments by a doctor who was incredibly dismissive and showed no interest in my condition or my concerns, brushing aside my questions. She was keen to discharge me and I felt I had to put up a fight to get diagnosed, which added so much unnecessary stress. Thankfully post diagnosis I've not had to see her again.
There can sometimes be a wait - but then sometimes they see me early if they can so I can't complain.
"Excellent staff and a great standard of care."
