What I liked
The anesthetics doctor was excellent and very friendly and reassuring.
What could be improved
After being left in a waiting room of visitors, with painful contractions for 45 mins, I was finally given a room. Both agency midwives ignored my birth plan. The first actually fell asleep when I wad in labour and the second spent ages on her mobile arguing with a guy who owed her money. Hardly relaxing after being in labour with my first child for 2 days. I was not allowed to move around, despite having a mobile epidural. The midwife left me alone for an hour, I was ready to push. She returned and shouted at me for removing the constricting monitor belt, refused to check how dialated I was and bullied me into having an oxytocin drip. I didn't need it as was 10cm dialated. Baby got distressed and a panic birth ensued.
Thank god baby was ok. Midwife made us think she would die.
Postnatal ward was awful. A woman spent whole night singing to her phone. Her boyfriend brought KFC at 11pm and was let in. I asked to move and was ignored, so got no sleep for 4th night running.
I put in a complaint form but have had no response. Will not ever use again.
"an upsetting experience that spoilt what should've..."
