"Unable to get to the service I need"

About: Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

I was given an appointment in Sleaford in the evening as I work all day and my work will not allow me time off.

The clinic is a way outside Sleaford and there is no transport at all there in the evening. I do not drive so could not get there.

I was given another appointment in the morning but as there are very few buses my appointment ended up taking over 3 hours because of long waits. I cannot take this amount of time off every two weeks so cannot get treatment for my depression.

I explained my problem to the man I saw, but he said that as all patients are having problems getting there, they cannot fit appointments to fit in with buses for some patients and not others. I am now left with no help.

We do where possible offer appointments that fit around the client and their transport. Without knowing more specific information it is difficult for us to offer any further explanation around your poor experience.

Therapists do offer the appointments they have available, other appointments may already be taken by other clients already being seen rather than us not being willing to give them an appointment.

If you want us to look further into your specific concerns please contact our PALS Office on 01529-222265 who will be able to liaise with the service directly on your behalf.
