"Accident & Emergency & Fracture Clinic"

About: Basildon University Hospital Basildon University Hospital / Accident and emergency Basildon University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Both Basildon Hospital A&E and the Fracture Clinic missed that I had broken my foot in 5 places and also my arm. The Triage Nurse said it wasn't necessary to X-ray my arm as she thought it seemed OK. I was sent home with no treatment.

The Fracture clinic eventually put my arm in plaster about 2 weeks later but did nothing about my foot which was even worse by this point. As there was no improvement and out of sheer desperation, I then had a private CT scan which confirmed the extent of the breaks. I ended up with both my arm & foot in plaster casts for weeks.

Overall I experienced a terrible service and I would rather travel to a different hospital if I had an emergency now.
