What could be improved

I should not have had to lose a baby on a ward with the curtains left open after my operation and my husband not allowed to visit me until visiting times. I was left to beg for pain relief for over an hour before treatment for an ectopic pregnancy. I had to wait nearly 12 hours to be told what had happened during surgery. I had to wait for nearly an hour for pain relief in the night and went to get my own water after waiting 2 hours for a drink. I found my treatment appalling and felt I was constantly dismissed as other patients needs were greater and needed tending to first. I can't imagine anyone who works in this unit has ever lost a baby, as there was little understanding for the need for privacy and information. Left the hospital as soon as I possibly could in order to grieve in private.

Anything else?

Over 48 hours I must have re-told my medical history over a dozen times to different members of staff, why?, isn't there a more efficient system that could be used where a patient sees fewer staff and details only need to be given once?
