What I liked
Having a pre-op assessment on the same day as being referred for surgery was an excellent service, however it didn't really follow through because I was waiting for c.52 weeks for a date for surgery and had to go back to the BRI again for an up to date pre-op.
Pre-op nurses and process seemed excellent though.
Anything else?
After waiting over 52 weeks for a date for surgery at the BRI, I was offered a date for this to be carried out. This date was cancelled. I was offered another date, which would have seen me having the procedure at about 62 weeks - this date was cancelled.
So, after waiting for about 59 weeks, having 2 cancellations for surgery, I've been given another date. At the moment I'm not holding out my hope that this will actually go ahead. Maybe I'll have my operation sometime before 2015....!
There's a lot of feedback on here that the care patients receive and the cleanliness of the hospital is good. To date I have not experienced anything but good care from the staff I have seen and cleanliness of the areas I have visited. Fingers crossed when I actually get to having the procedure I require, the inpatient stay experience will be as good as I read...
"Waiting lists are ridiculous!"
