What could be improved
My appointment for day surgery for excision biopsy was for 12 Midday I was eventually operated on at 5.40pm !!
It would have been nice if I and the others also waiting for ops could have been updated of estimated time scales etc. Most of the people waiting had not eaten or had drinks since very early morning. If there is adelay perhaps patients could be advised if they can have any liquids or food. My first drink was not until 7pm and only when I asked for a drink . I was probably dehydrated which may have been a factor in my very high blood pressure during the op. Also when having a local as opposed to general perhaps earplugs could be offered as it is somewhat offputing hearing strange noises etc when op is taking palce.
I hope my comments willnot upset anyone and result in delays to my treatment as I was reffered to Hospital by my GP( on a 2 week wait) in early ApriI for investigation of lumps in my neck and am still awaiting a diagnosis.
Also when I was transferred to Lavenham ward for recovery prior to discharge I found in the ward toilet the underneath of the toilet seat was covered in dried blood. I did point this out to the nurse and actually showed her. I hope the cleaners have been updated on this.
Apart from the above I have no complaints about the actual medical processes.
"The objective of medical process was achieved but..."
