"Wouldn't go to any other hospital."

About: National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - Queen Square

What I liked

The Consultants, medical and surgical teams are fantastic as are most of the Nurses.

Recovery team were marvellous and so caring not returning me to my ward until I was ready.

The hot blankets in recovery are absolutely out of this world - something I will always remember.

What could be improved

There was only 1 out of 3 Ladies toilets and bathrooms working whilst I was on Lady Anne Allerton Ward.

After I complained numerous times, we were then able to use the Mens bathroom which was better but still only 2 toilets for 24 patients.

Anything else?

The Nursing staff should listen to the Consultants and medical teams as to when you are ready to be discharged as the Nursing team couldn't wait to discharge me despite having major Neurosurgery and also despite being told several times by my team (and me) that I wasn't to be discharged until a certain date.

Food was acceptable and the catering team, porters and healthcare assisants were marvellous. except the menu could be varied a bit more as even just after being in hospital for a week, I was a bit bored of the same old menu.

This hospital is the best in the world, just need to get the toilets working and then keep them clean and also just a few Nurses and other members of staff need retraining to get them on the same par as their excellent Colleagues.
