What could be improved
Cleanliness, Communication between doctors & staff & doctors & family members.
Respect for the patient by staff i.e making sure patients teeth & nails are clean.
Chairs to be provided so patients are not continually confined to bed.
Consultants to show compassion towards patients & their families.
Anything else?
My mother was admitted to Macclesfield DG Hospital in March 2012 with low sodium levels. She died in April 2012 from hospital aquired pneumonia. She had also contracted E Coli during her stay at the hospital.
There was no communication from the consultant 'treating' Mum except for a curt phone call from her registrar showing no compassion whatsoever.
There was a dirty mop & bucket left in her room & the door was closed so visiting dignitaries could not see the situation.
Mum had no chair so she could not sit out & spent her entire stay confined to bed.
The family had to clean Mum's table as it had congealed food on it.
Would not wish what happened to Mum on my worst enemy.
"Disgusting, Shocking, Avoidable chain of events"
