"Hospital Comment"

About: Epsom Hospital

What I liked

My 90 year old father whom is deaf & blind was admitted to A&E after attempting to take his own life. After being left on a trolley for over 6 hours before even being seen and left in his own urine. After calls for assistance I ended up cleaning him on my own. Eventually someone came to help. Too little too late. He was given sleeping pills and I had to leave after 7 hours and he was still on a trolley. You are a discrace.

What could be improved

Employ staff that actually want to do the job, properly, with care and compassion. None of this was evident.

Anything else?

A very detailed letter of complain will be compiled to Andrew Lansley and Chris Grayling.

Thank you for the comment you posted (on NHS Choices) about the care provided to your father at Epsom Hospital's AandE.

As you can imagine, I am very concerned to hear the points you have raised and would ask you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) so that we can investigate them as soon as possible.

You can do this by calling 01372 73 5243 or emailing pals@esth.nhs.uk. You can also contact them via our website: www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk/pals.

I am of course very sorry to hear of your concerns and I am keen to help address them as soon as possible.

Pippa Hart

Director of Nursing
