About: University College Hospital University College Hospital London NW1 2BU
What I liked
From the reception to the exit, I was treated professionally, courteously and with dignity by _all_ the staff. The admissions receptionist communicated well and did her best to keep patients up to date, the hospital porter was friendly. The consultant was frank and honest, necessarily so, and the staff on the ward were generous in their assistance (night shift were excellent), - at no time was I made to feel embarrassed or suffer loss of dignity.
Even the notorious hospital food was fairly good.
What could be improved
A little more communication from the consultant. I needed to telephone the hospital the next day for advice, which was embarrassing.
His PA, however was courteous, efficient and prompt in returning my call.
What I noticed was that during the day, computers were left unattended for lengthy periods. To switch off the computer and then on again is a time consuming task, and only increases wear on the machine itself; a false economy
My suggestion, to save a bit on the electricity bill, is to simply switch the monitors off. This is easy, takes about a second, extends the life of the monitor, and still leaves the computer on.
