What I liked
The consultant, nurses and support staff were dedicated to providing the best possible patient care, personally and professionally. I was diagnosed with a rare cancer in January 2012 and was extensively treated by Maxillo-Facial services at KGH. It says not to mention names on the side of the page, my consultant saved my life and treated me with the utmost respect and dignity. Not only that, after talking to lots of patients and GP's in the area, if you needed to see someone for services in this department he is definitely the person you want. I would say that my treatment and care was more like getting a private doctor. I thank my lucky stars that he was consultant. And he is super smart too. I remember when my margins did not come back clear after the second time and the doctor delayed starting his annual vacation so he could talk to me in person about the next surgery, in case I had any questions or worries as he did want me waiting a month for results while I was recovering and worrying.
Kettering General does have a multi-disciplinary team for cancer cases and i am glad I stayed local , because I could in this case, and let my doctor treat me.
What could be improved
Nothing, everything was perfect.
Anything else?
Thank you Kettering General for having such a wonderful doctor on board, if I wrote everything about my months of care here it would not all fit. I did write a three-page letter to the Chief Executive hospital of the hospital to say that I feel my care could only be rated as Excellent as good would not have included the human element.
"I only need one word-Excellent."
