My dad was seen when seriously ill in hospital by neurology consultants specialising in muscular dystrophy. He was treated in a manner showing little compassion. My dad was not a man to be easily demoralised, but these doctors managed to do that. When we most need tactful and compassionate treatment is when we feel weak and unwell, and unfortunately it was very much lacking in this case. However, when my mum complained about this she did receive an apology, so hopefully the treatment of patients has improved.
