"Thank you to a lovely surgeon and friendly staff"

I went in to have my op in early June 2012.

The surgeon/consultant was Fakokunde, who was fantastic from the outset. He assured me that all would be fine and made me feel comfortable.

At first I was told that I would have an abdominal hysterectomy but then he would try to give me a vaginal hysterectomy depending on what he found best in the theatre. Obviously I hoped for the latter.

When I went in to have my op, the anaesthetists were amazing and made me feel so comfortable before I fell asleep. When I awoke the surgeon said he successfully did the hysterectomy through the vagina, leaving the ovaries. He said although it was complicated it was worth it, what a lovely man.

I am so grateful for the empathic and friendly staff that made my experience less traumatic. Thanks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
