What could be improved
Communication with patients regarding waiting times. If appointments are not running on time then it would be helpful to let patients know if there is going to be a longer wait, just to reassure them. Also they may need to make other arrangements if they need to be somewhere else but are still waiting in hospital.
Better air circulation in waiting room - it was very stuffy waiting in there
There seemed to be a lot of time wasted, waiting for the doctor to tell me something he had told me previously. As a blood test was all that was needed at that time, this could have been done sooner rather than having to return to hospital the next day (as the blood clinic had closed by the time I was seen, though it was open at the time of my appointment).
If a letter or phone call could suffice rather than an appointment (for example, when letting a patient know they just need to get another blood test), then surely this would save time for doctors who are already over booked?
