About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

What I liked

I was admitted to William Drummond Ward on 19th March 2012, having had Transient Global Amnesia over a period of 5-6 hours that morning. I was finally discharged from the ward on the late afternoon of Wednesday, 21st March.

During the time I was on the ward I was treated with great kindness and consummate professionalism by all the staff with whom I came into contact. This extended not only to the nurses (including the student nurses) but to the doctors, catering and cleaning staff. At a time when I was confused and pretty anxious after having ‘lost’ several hours, the treatment I received not only made my stay in your hospital pleasant, I have no doubt that it greatly aided and speeded my recovery.

I was also impressed by the way in which other patients in ‘my’ bay on the ward were treated. Some of those patients were not easy to deal with since some of them appeared to be very sick indeed, and their mental frailties made them, at times, angry and argumentative. Despite that, the nurses and all other staff treated them with courtesy, kindness and a complete lack of condescension.
