"Upset that my operation was cancelled"

I am a 27 year old woman with Crohn's disease.

I had my operation for stoma reversal cancelled 1 hour before I was due at the hospital. I had been waiting for this operation for more than 3 months and had myself all psyched up about it! very annoying!

I spoke to a lady on the phone who assured me that due to lack of beds everyone would be cancelled that day, but my operation will be done within 28 days. I received an outpatients letter to see my surgeon and when I finally got to see him (an hour and 40 minutes after my appointment time) he blamed lack of funds and beds and government and there was nothing he could do about it.

Oh, of course not forgetting that I am not a priority, as I am semi healthy. So I have no idea when my operation is going to be and I think this is disgraceful - not just for me, but also how they handled that day for other patients too.
