Recently my wife felt like she was having heart problems, and had a numbness in her body. I took her to Huyton walk-in to check her symptoms out. We were seen by a nurse in 10 minutes, who told my wife that the numbness might have been from sleeping in an odd positions (it was 1 o'clock by this point).
We waited and hour and a half, and many people were seen before my wife (including a woman with a ring stuck on her finger). This was slightly alarming as my wife had possible issues with her heart. Eventually we went and asked what was happening, and the staff members we spoke to had to rumage around to find her name on a list.
My wife was seen within 5 minutes of complaining about the wait, and went in to see the nurse. The nurse examined my wife, and said that she didn't have a problem with her heart, but that if this happened in the future she should go straight to Whiston Hospital.
The staff very all very pleasant, but this has left me wondering why my wife seemed to be seen as such a low priority, when she had a possible heart problem and was advised that she should go to hospital in future. I think the assessment procedure needs improving.
