What I liked
Nothing.
What could be improved
Attitude of nursing staff was disrespectful and on occasions disgraceful. I was offended at their swearing and the way they avoided you if you needed help. On one occasion I asked for a pillow case as I didn't have one, only to be told 'there are none'. The nurse then walked off. I wotnessed an elderly lady being spoken to disgracefully and disrespectfully. She was mentally sharp and very polite to everyone. There was absolutely no need for any nurse to make a fool out of her and embarrass her. I have been on this ward twice since November with dislocated hips and on both occassions the attitude of some of the nurses was appalling. After the first visit I complained to the sister.
My daughter was with me when I was admitted to A@E with a dislocated hip and she could not believe the filth in the treatment/waiting room. It was thick of dust.
This hospital must improve significantly if serious damage is to be avoided to patients who have the misfortune to have to attend. To put it bluntly, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Co-ordination between departments and nurses is abysmal.
I would willingly offer my services to be a lay member on the board of trustees as I feel so strongly about the service this hospital is offering. It is a disgrace.
"Disgraceful , unsympathetic and unprofessional."
