What I liked
I have been to A&E several times with my mother over the last few years for a reoccuring condition. The treatment she recieves there is always first rate and very professional. The staff in A&E are always communicative and caring considering they work in such a high pressure environment.
It was this A&E depatment that first diagnosed my mother's cancer, which had been missed by her GP. They saved her life.
Finally, just a word for the ambulance staff (we have met several). They are excellent and I don't believe they get enough recognition for the job they do.
What could be improved
As with any work place, there are good staff and bad staff. Sometimes, on wards, being a visitor you are made to feel like an inconvenience and are bothering staff if you ask for anything. However, some nursing staff are excellent and I would not let this minor gripe detract from an otherwise excellent hospital that delivers excellent medical treatment.
