"The hospital makes great impression, but doctor..."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

What I liked

I had a visit with an ENT doctor. I do not question her knowledge or skills. But the way she has treated me as a patient was beyond any standards. She was harsh and looked like she was in a hurry and unfortunately did not listen to what I wanted to say. I was trying to explain her my symptoms but she just won't listen. I was polite and tried my best to describe my symptoms but she looked upset as if I was not respecting her in some way. It was like she knew better how I feel. Not only I was being ignored but also I was scared to ask any question as the doctor looked annoyed as if the only thing she wanted was me getting out from the room. I was not involved with any decision about my care as any questions or suggestions I had have been treated with hostility or in a way that made me feel stupid. I am not a doctor and if I am concerned about my health I would like the doctor to give me some explanation. I did not expect her to answer one thousand of questions but just 2 or 3. I just gave up. What is the point of medical consult if the doctor is not interested in all the symptoms? Moreover, I had certain examinations carried out in a private clinic and wanted to consult them. But here again... She just would not listen. I regret going there. It made me feel helpless and did not help my condition.

On good sides, the hospital looks nice and tidy. Ladies at the reception were extremely helpful and really polite. Same with the Pharmacy - they welcome you with a smile and are extremely helpful. I only wish I was treated with more respect and was listened to.
