What I liked
I was admitted to A&E on 16.2.2012 with a medication reaction then transferred overnight to ward 8b North. Having trained in the 1950s as a SRN, it was interesting to see the differences in hospital methods due to changes over the last 60 years. Very different in all ways. Generally I was very impressed. The rigid discipline had disappeared to be replaced by a more relaxed approach but just as efficient. I arrived on a darkened ward at around 3am and was relieved to see how peaceful it was. However, there a long wait before I could be discharged. Bloods which should been taken on A&E, were taken on the ward in the afternoon. Praise to the Staff Nurse who discharged me. I was out of patient waiting around for the blood results to arrive. Why could they not be forwarded to the GP?
Generally very impressed with everything. Wondered if the medical staff could wear white jackets as shown on "Junior Doctors" a recent TV programme. Smart and they can be identified.
