What I liked

Concerned about my grandson, phoned the Unit for advice and within four minutes, was telling a doctor the symptoms. Advised to go immediately to the Unit and was seen by another doctor (who had been warned of our arrival). Examination proved that a trip to QA. was urgent, and off he went by car. On admission at QA appendicitis was confirmed and he underwent an operation to remove a perforated appendix in the nick of time.

I am extremely grateful for the swift and professional manner from the time I telephoned the Unit initially, until he had been examined and diagnosed and sent to QA with the necessary paperwork for the surgeon. Impressed and thankful that we have this superb facility close by (especially since the closure of RH Haslar!)

What could be improved

Nothing as far as I was concerned - everything went smoothly, even though the waiting room was busy (and a little noisy with sick and unhappy children). Staff professional and unfazed by the background racket!
