What I liked
Theatre staff very helpful explained everything as we went along made lots of effort to reassure us every step of the way, midwife was excellent.
After care was ok up untill ther was a drug error, when this was pointed out there seemed to be a change in attitude by some members of staff, was not kept well informed about what was happening, and still did not receive the required dosage of the drug, which was in my opinion is astounding as right from the start we were told of the importance of taking the drug from the midwife to the consultant.
What could be improved
Mistakes will always be made as we are all human but, when this happens by all means carry out you own root cause analysis to stop it from happening again, don't take it out on the patient ,put it right, keep them informed and don't just leave the patient with out the medication.
