"I was very well treated and cared for during my..."

About: Northwick Park Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to the hospital through A & E and was in a lot of pain. The orthopaedic staff working in A & E were efficient and caring towards me and the Senior Sister I judged to be an outstanding nurse. They were so kind towards me, as they expertly did her job.

The Infectious Diseases and Acute Medicine Consultant, is an excellent doctor. They are extremely knowledgeable in their area and has a very good bedside manner. I have susequently heard that another former patient of theirs was as impressed as was I.

I was well treated and looked after by the staff on the ward where I was and have criticism for only one nurse who has "a chip on their shoulder." This is unfortunate, as they are a good nurse.

The ward cleaner did a good job and was pleasant to patients, as was the tea lady.

What could be improved

More care with admin. The name and address of my GP were not correctly recorded: the wrong GP and the wrong address. This meant that after I was discharged, I had to visit my GP's surgery and ask for district nurse visits to be set up. Normally, this would be done prior to the patient being discharged.
