"Ashley House"

About: Ashley House

(as a service user),

I am glad that the abstinence service TTP has left Ashley House. I feel for some reason TTP's staff and clients seem to think they are better than everyone else, this not being just my opinion.

I wonder why TTP staff are still working there though? I know that they are running smart recovery but in my opinion this is not being done properly as their hearts are not in it.

Surely it should be about service user involvement, but I feel the current service users are only interested in themselves.

In my view Ashley House is failing on all levels, steer clear if you want to get clean.

Hi Ski 72,

whilst there is always more to do, the results for Ashley House, compared to other drug services nationally , are very good. the feedback to this site from people who use the service is overwhelmingly positive. so i'm afraid the evidence is not there that Ashley House is 'failing on all levels'. if though you have some ideas as to how we could all imprve the service then please feel free to either contact me here at the council, or one of the service managers.

regards

Steve

Thank you for your posting.

There are a number of organisations that have or presently do provide the interventions within Ashley House and as you mention this did include TTP.

In the new year all staff will belong to one new service provider but I think it is important for people to be aware that since Ashley House's inception all those involved have always strived to provide a seemless service that interlinks all that is on offer and as such we already act as one service provider .This is irrespective of who employs the individual and we are all collectively involved in and motivated to forward the recovery agenda .

We also continue to promote service user involvement, the numbers involved steadily increasing and we welcome any requests to become involved with this.

If you are interested please approach one of the staff in reception, ask your key-worker ,if you are in treatment or ask to speak to one of the managers.
